British Art Fair
A week today the British Art Fair opens at the Royal College of Art in Kensington Gore (14th to 18th September). Now in its 24th year, the Fair is a wonderful celebration of modern British art, with 56 exhibitors selling paintings, original prints, drawings and sculpture by established names as well as by emerging artists and recent graduates.
Many of the greatest names in 20th and 21st Century art will be exhibiting and many of them are former students of the Royal College: Bacon, Freud, Frink, Frost, Hepworth, Hockney, Hodgson, Lanyon, Lowry, Moore, Nash, Piper, Riley, Scott, Spencer and Sutherland. Alongside the RC alumni there will be a large selection of contemporary work by established names such as Hirst, Emin and Banksy. Also this year there will be a special sculpture selection, ‘Form – Matter – Material’, following on from the recent Royal British Sculpture show at the Royal Academy.
